DEAR ELIZABETH:

I think it's time for us to plan another sister trip, don't you?
Here's some ideas of mine:

Looking back to April to some England photos this morning. I really do need to sort through them once and for all -- I've put it off so long that I might as well go back and take some new shots.

Photographs from Blenheim Palace.

SPAIN!

We're leaving for Malaga, Spain this morning - home of 300+ days of sunshine each year. I'm a little nervous about the ferry crossing at Tangier, but I'm probably just being a baby. We haven't had a chance to upload any photos and likely won't until we're back but, believe me, we're having a very interesting time. More soon!

HAPPY EASTER!

Photobucket

Morocco here we come!!
La Persuasion is currently en route to the Kingdom of mint tea, Hammam spas, couscous, and Mosques -- ...err.. not in that order. We hope you all have a very happy Easter weekend and we're sorry we won't be there with you to celebrate. Eat a few extra chocolate eggs for us, okay?

And we're off! Persuasion is off to Europe this morning and we are so excited! Elizabeth will be back in 19 days to tell you the highlights of our time together (Mary will continue on for three more weeks) and we will try to post (albeit sporadically) while we are gone as well.

It turns out that there just wasn't room for the cat in the suitcase. Oh well -- next time, Ruby.

THE QUEST FOR COMFORT

Photobucket

Historically I've liked to travel as retardedly as possible, ie. bring 6 pairs of ridiculous shoes rather than 1 or 2 pairs that I can actually walk comfortably in for 8 hours a day. I seem to do this every single time - the desire to look!good!in!any!situation! always seems to outweigh any notion of practicality. Which is dumb, cause I'm generally a practical person.

Especially dumb because when I travel I like to hit the pavement - I don't 'vacation', I walk ..... for days.

This time though I've smartened up, I've made the bold decision to bring just 2 pairs of shoes - and flats at that! You hear me world? I'M ONLY BRINGING TWO PAIRS OF PRACTICAL SHOES!!! Maybe it's a 30s thing.

Or maybe I've realized that between the shopping in Paris, the souks of Morocco, & costal Spain, many, many ridiculous shoes await.

TWO MONTH BAG?

Photobucket

Hey Mary, How about one of these Fjällräven backpacks? They come in a million colours, cost only $80 and you can buy them online from ooga booga in LA. And hey, everyone will think you're Swedish. Fun!

THE TWO MONTH BAG

I officially have a trip in my future -- but I'll divulge more on that later -- what matters now is that I find the perfect large, fashionable, impenetrable-to-thieves day bag. I've been leaning towards these classic and duffel bag styles:

{Clockwise from top left: Krane laptop bag, Fred Perry waxed canvas day bag, Rag & Bone weekender wax cotton bag, Swaine Adeney Brigg's Mayfair Collection sports holdall, Krane hawker duffel bag. All bags, except Swaine Adeney are available from Gravity Pope.}
